Greek Ties (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Greek Ties platform, a private alumni network for Greek-letter organizations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information about you when you use our services.

By using Greek Ties, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information: name, email address, graduation year, chapter affiliation, and profile photo.
• Profile data: career history, employer, industry, location, and any biography or contact details you choose to share.
• Communications: messages sent to other members through the platform's messaging features.
• Payment information: billing details processed through Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers.
• Usage data: log data, IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and interactions with features.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Greek Ties platform.
• Enable member directory, mentorship matching, and messaging features.
• Process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Send transactional emails, including account verification and activity notifications.
• Respond to support requests and inquiries.
• Monitor usage for security purposes and detect fraudulent activity.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for targeted advertising.

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase and hosted in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5. Data Sharing

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Within your chapter: your profile and directory information is visible to approved members of your chapter.
• Service providers: we use Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), and Resend (email) to operate the platform. These providers process data only on our behalf.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: update or correct inaccurate information in your profile at any time.
• Deletion: request that we delete your account and associated personal data. Note that some information may be retained for legal or administrative purposes.
• Portability: request an export of your data in a commonly used format.
• Opt-out: unsubscribe from non-transactional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages.
